Interpersonal skills help us interact with others successfully, on the job, and in the larger world. Most jobs involve some degree of interaction with others, whether it is customers, stakeholders or colleagues.  Sharing ideas and collaborating, will always be essential in the workplace.

Interpersonal skills course aims

This one day interpersonal skills course focuses on improving communication skills in the workplace, either by enhancing existing interpersonal skills or developing new ones. The learning will cover skills and techniques that will improve the ability to communicate effectively either face-to-face, by telephone or email.

You will learn that you need a range of skills in order to be successful.  This course will cover how to read people’s body language, tone of voice, and how to respond appropriately.  Additionally it will cover the skills of how to ask questions and provide feedback.

The content we will cover

Depending on your working environment, communication might be face-to-face, strictly virtual or a flexible mix of the two. We can adjust our course material to make sure it aligns with your situation in order to maximise your learning. Here are the core topics we will cover:

  • Assessing different styles of communication
  • Reviewing your staff and their current communication practices
  • Understanding different mediums of communication
  • Learning how to improve on your current communication styles

The course support materials

On the day, a colour printed workbook with techniques, tips and space for notes will be available to all delegates for their personal use. As this course is highly dependant on the delegates’ working environment, we encourage you to ask questions that will help you to take as much as possible from the session.
